Which Ford calculator do I need?
Look at the first letter of the serial number on the radio label:
| Serial starts with | Example | Calculator | Enter |
|---|---|---|---|
| M | M123456 | Ford M Series | the 6 digits after M |
| V | V123456 | Ford V Series | the 6 digits after V |
| C7E3A | C7E3A…8391693 | Ford Travelpilot (C7E3A…) | the last 7 digits |
| C7E3F | C7E3F…8391693 | Ford Travelpilot (C7E3F…) | the last 7 digits |
| C7E3F07 / C7E3F09 | C7E3F09…391693 | Ford Travelpilot (F07/F09) | the last 6 digits |
| L | L123456 | Ford L Series | the 6 digits after L |
| C | C123456 | Ford C Series | the 6 digits after C (try the 4-digit version first) |
Ford Top Power, FMS (Sanyo, 12-digit serial), FIC / North American and Figo radios have their own calculators in the list above. For Figo radios (serial starting VC0AK…) enter the last 6 digits. Some Visteon-made Ford radios (e.g. EcoSport, serial like AHH123456) use the M series calculator with the last 6 digits.
Where to find the serial number
- On the radio label. Remove the radio with a pair of Ford radio removal keys (the U-shaped tools that slide into the holes on the front panel). The serial is on a white sticker on the top or side of the case.
- On the display (V series). Many V series radios, such as the 6000 CD, show the serial if you hold 1 and 6 while switching the radio on.
- In the service book. Ford often supplied a radio code card with the car – check the owner’s pack first.
