How the calculators work

Every car radio with anti-theft protection links its serial number to a 4- or 5-digit unlock code. For many radios the code can be calculated from the serial with the same method the manufacturer used. For others, the codes were only ever stored in a list, so we look the serial up in our code database.

Each calculator tells you exactly which part of the serial number to type. Your serial is used only to find the code – we do not store it or link it to you.
