Audi radios of this generation usually enter the code with the preset buttons: button 1 changes the first digit, 2 the second, 3 the third and 4 the fourth. Confirm by pressing the two seek/tune arrows together or holding the last button, depending on the model. If the display shows SAFE and nothing happens, read locked radio.

How do I see the Audi radio serial without removing the radio?

On many Audi Concert and Chorus radios, switch the radio off, hold buttons 1 and 6, and switch it on – the display may show the serial. Otherwise it is on the label on the radio case.

My Audi radio says SAFE. What does that mean?

SAFE means the radio is waiting for its code, or is blocked after wrong codes. If it stays on SAFE and does not accept input, leave the radio on with the ignition on for about an hour until it asks for the code again.

What about AUZ2Z or AUZ4Z serials?

Those radios use different security and are not covered by a free calculator yet. Use the request form.
