Fiat VP1 / VP2 radio code

Fiat VP1 and VP2 radios were built by Continental (VDO). The code comes from the last 4 digits of the serial on the radio label – enter them below. If the radio rejects the first code, try the VP2 version 2 calculator.

Two calculators, one serial

Calculator When to use it

Fiat VP2 (version 2) VP2 radios that rejected the first code

Checking the same serial in both calculators counts as one lookup.

Before you enter the code

  1. Read the serial twice – the last 4 digits are all that matter.
  2. Enter the code once, carefully, with the preset buttons, and confirm as described in the owner’s manual.
  3. If the radio blocks entry, leave it switched on with the ignition on until it accepts input again.

Other Fiat radios (Blaupunkt, Daiichi, pre-code) are on the Fiat page.

Frequently asked questions

How do I know if my Fiat radio is a VP1 or VP2?

The label on the radio case names the maker (Continental or VDO) and the model. Both use the same first calculator; the 'VP2 (version 2)' calculator is for VP2 units that reject the first code.

Which digits do I enter?

Only the last 4 digits of the serial number – not the part number printed on the same label.

The radio rejected the code. What now?

Do not try again straight away: wait until the radio accepts input again, check the serial, then try the 'Fiat VP2 (version 2)' calculator. See locked radio help.
